THEORETICAL AND METHODOLOGICAL ASPECTS OF STRATEGIC DEVELOPMENT OF REGIONAL PRODUCTION SYSTEMS

Abstract

The article presents a fragmentary analysis of theoretical and methodological approaches to the concept of “strategy” by foreign and domestic researchers. The classification of Russian schools of strategic management is given. It’s underlined that the studies of domestic researchers have not only academic but also applied character. Special emphasis is placed on the issues of strategic planning, prediction and control which are the processes of strategizing. Their practical use gives us opportunity to increase the competitiveness of domestic production systems. It’s noted that the development strategy needs innovative breakthrough. The article points out that possessing of resources and other sources of competitiveness without their implementation into production activity doesn’t create competitive advantages for domestic manufacturers. It is concluded that in the creation of development strategy of the regional production systems, it’s necessary to proceed from the national priorities of the economy sectors development and spatial development of the federation subjects. This gives the opportunity to coordinate the interests of the market participants and use intangible assets of the regions. The purpose of strategy realization should be advanced development of production systems. Therefore, it’s important to create and use new factors of competitiveness and competitive advantages. When elaborating the production system development strategy, it’s necessary to combine scientific approach with practical experience of economic agents functioning, and also with realization of previous projects and programs.
