PROSPECTS FOR RUSSIAN SMALL SERVICE BUSINESS IN THE CRISIS PERIOD

Abstract

In developed economies, small businesses account for more than half of the country's GDP; small business is a driver of economic growth and a source of jobs for the population. Due to the influence of a combination of reasons (geographical, economic and political), the development of the small business sector in Russia has not reached such results as abroad. At the moment, the Russian economy is once again facing new challenges and the need to develop new patterns to overcome the crisis. The hypothesis of the study is the assumption that in the current environment, despite the fact that the SME sector has been hit hard, it is small business that will be able to quickly adapt to new realities. The methodological basis of the study was the works of Russian scientists and practitioners, as well as statistical data and analytics of the Public Organization "Support of Russia". The study was carried out on the current state of small business in the service sector and the impact of the crisis situation on it. The result of the article is a proposal of options for supporting small business in the service sector, which will help to level the main difficulties in the work of small businesses in the Russian Federation.
