Abstract

The existential problem of "action" (conscious, as well as, according to the Aristotelian classification, committed "not of one's own free will", "out of ignorance") is considered. The discursive "texts" illustrating the "semantic content" of the ancient rationalist philosophical paradigm of the times of the Athenian polis democracy, the dominant place in which belongs to man, defined as "the measure of all things", are analyzed. It is stated that this question - as part of the human problem - is conceptual for the modern philosophical paradigm of postmodernism (in the epistemological context of "non-classical rationality"). It is proved that the existential nature of the designated "vital" task (as well as the corresponding socio-philosophical "procedure" of the presentation) suggests a certain similarity between the classical and existentialist ways of solving it. It is concluded that the phenomenon of personality (as well as the related problem of "individuality") is due to the prerogative of a person to "action" in order to overcome his metaphysical non-freedom.
