Abstract

The article notes that to describe the experiencing of the quality of life in the second half of adulthood, it is important to assess not only subjective satisfaction with life and well-being, but also the existential fulfillment of the individual, since it is associated with its age needs. It is proposed to differentiate the experiencing of the quality of life by the indicator of the locus of control. The purpose of the empirical study is to determine the specifics of the experiencing of the quality of life by externals and internals during adulthood. The sample consisted of 150 respondents (33-50 years old) (M = 40.5; SD = 5.38), subsequently divided into 2 groups according to the criterion of "dominant attribution". It was found that a person in the age of 33-50 experiences the quality of life as moderately satisfactory and stressful, not fully authentic. Internals perceive life as emotionally more attractive, filled with interesting current events, than externals. It is shown for the first time that the differences in the experiencing of the quality of life of externals and internals are provided not so much by quantitative indicators as by the difference in the structure of correlates of its cognitive, conative and emotional components. If for people with external attribution it is connected with the possibility of self-realization and social environment, then for people with internal attribution - with an emotional state. Taking into account such differentiation, it is possible to ensure effective work in psychological and managerial practice.
