Аннотация

В статье предлагается обзор исследований Р. Нисбетта и Д. Коэна, посвященных «культуре чести», прежде всего их книги «Культура чести: Психология насилия на Юге», а также краткий анализ основных критических оценок этих работ. Книга Р. Нисбетта и Д. Коэна считается образцовым, если не классическим, исследованием такого сложного явления, как честь, в котором авторы удачно сочетают методы различных социальных наук. Они показывают, что культура чести присуща не только средиземноморским или племенным обществам, но и целому региону современных США и что ее существование связано с повышенным уровнем насилия, поскольку она легитимирует его во многих распространенных обстоятельствах. Культура чести стала приниматься как одно из основных объяснений насилия на юге США и в других регионах. Вместе с тем предложенное авторами объяснение возникновения и устойчивости этой культуры, по мнению критиков, аргументировано слабее и нуждается в дальнейшем обосновании.
