SOME ASPECTS OF FIXING OF THE EVIDENTIARY INFORMATION STORED ON THE RESOURCES OF THE INTERNET

Abstract

Trends in the use of Internet resources for criminal activities have led to difficulties in the investigators’ practical work involved in processing procedural documents and records of investigative actions. The general availability of Internet resources has attracted the attention of individuals engaged in criminal activities. The theoretical aspects related to the objects of fixing of the evidentiary information placed in the Internet space and practical aspects concerning the basic methods of fixing the objects are considered. Cases in which the investigators face online resources when disclosing crimes and investigating criminal cases are indicated. The main recommendations for working with information in the Internet space are proposed, which facilitate its further competent fixation and minimize the possibility of declaring the evidence to be inadmissible.
