In a constantly changing external and internal environment, enterprises need to receive information promptly and in full measure in order to assess a current situation and to make management decisions. That’s why the development and the improvement of the information support system are required through the use of modern information technologies and computer systems, as well as through the formation of new approaches to manage the information support system. The paper presents a review of scientific works on the problems of managing the information support systems, which allowed to identify the following disadvantages: a clear object of the information system (information space) is absent; the relationship and interaction between the elements (subsystems) of a model are not spelled out; the characteristics of the production activity of an enterprise are not taken into account. Within this study, the systems of information support of management of a number of enterprises have been analyzed. The results proved the existence of the following problems: there is no provision about the use of information systems; the key processes of collecting and processing information are not regulated; there is no system to audit and evaluate the effectiveness of information systems and technologies; enterprises have no unified databases containing all documents on the enterprise activities and the external environment development; the strategy of developing the information support system is not elaborated on enterprises. On the basis of a review of scientific literary materials and practical experience of developing the information support systems, the author developed the organizational-economic model of managing the information support of an enterprise’s operations, which consists of theoretical and methodological basis of management, subsystems of information support, information space, information provision, and feedback.
