Abstract

The activities of the primary party organization of the Presidium of the Supreme Council of the Udmurt Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic in 1941-1945 are considered based on the analysis of documents and materials of republican archives, primarily the Center for Documentation on the Recent History of the Udmurt Republic. During the first weeks of the Great Patriotic War the party organization was able to successfully adapt its own activities and those of the Presidium of the Supreme Council under emergency wartime conditions. Subsequently, during the wartime the activities of the primary party organization were carried out within the framework of important and related areas such as organizational party work, improvement of the work of the Supreme Soviet Presidium, mass agitation work, providing direct and indirect assistance to the front. It is concluded that the activities of the primary party organization of the Presidium of the Supreme Council of the Udmurt Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic in 1941-1945, which were documented in the historiography of the Soviet period, show loyalty and the role of the Communist party in the achievement of victory in the Great Patriotic War, according to which the party, being a spiritual and organizational core of Soviet society, provided its moral and political unity and a cohesiveness under the hardest war conditions.
