Abstract

The objective of this paper is to describe the art features of Alexander Galich’s poetry. The authors of the paper characterize the individual style of the writer. The main method of research is descriptive. The style of a poet is determined by his or her aesthetic world. Its component parts are: world view of an author, relation to the fundamental categories of existence; the nature of reality perception - objective, subjective, complex; the ratio of the real and the fabulous or artificial in aesthetics of works; creative method; unity or multiplicity of points of view; axiology; ideas and themes that are relevant to an author; constant images; emotional tone. For A. Galich the very important categories are good and evil, life and death, freedom and slavery, soul. The poet neither idealizes nor transforms the reality. He critically rethinks it. Moreover, he points to a higher reality. Galich uses stylistic contrasts and intertextual parallels. In his axiological system a dominant element is freedom. This author prefers the ironic pathos when describing the world. Linguistic means of irony expression are rather varied. These include antiphrasis, metaphor, paradox, and others.
