Klychkov belonged to the literary direction ‘novokrest'yanskie (new-peasant) writers’, who enriched the book literary tradition by oral poetry in 1920s. The latter was based on the cosmogonic myth-making consciousness, manifested in folklore. Therefore, in the text of Klychkov’s novel small genres of oral poetic prose were actively used. Bylichka (memorat) had the greatest potential for the writer. It performs the subject-character and plot-generating functions in a work.
