Abstract

The subject of the study, the results of which are presented in the article, is German colloquial verbal units, formed with the participation of preverbal adverbs and particles. The dynamics of their use and the features of semantics are considered. The article establishes that models with components of spatial semantics: aus-, durch-, ein-, los-, herum- (rum-) participate in the formation of verb lexemes of the coronavirus pandemic period. The article shows that colloquial verb lexemes formed according to this model often have augmentative semantics. The most frequent verb lexemes with augmentative semantics are identified, their meaning is established. Augmentative semantics in derived verb units is formed on the basis of the main meaning of the prenegative component, due to its metaphorization, in the presence of potential peyorative semes in the meaning of motivating verbs. The article also defines the concept of augmentativity, establishes the boundaries of this category. The category of augmentativity is interpreted as an integral part of the category of emotivity, its distinguishing feature is the deviation in the expression of the attribute upward from the conditional norm.
