Abstract

The article is devoted to the problems of formation and analysis of the content of one of the first provincial periodicals devoted to the history of bibliophilism and the problems of book business - "Kazan Bibliophile", published in 1921-1923. The sources of the study were both the materials of the publication itself and the works of museologists, historians, and teachers who actively participated in the creation and activities of the journal. The use of source analysis methods made it possible to study the main range of problems that worried local bibliologists in the early 1920s, the directions and specifics of the work that should have received coverage on the pages of the publication and - for one reason or another - were not developed, to analyze the topics of publications. Meanwhile, the study of the development of the book business within a single territory is of interest not only for identifying the specific local features of this process, but also for a deeper understanding of the general patterns of its evolution in Russia.
