Abstract

The article is a continuation of reflections on the picturesque plot in the stories “Asya”, “First Love” by I. S. Turgenev. The article is devoted to the realization of the picturesque plot in the story “Spring Waters”. The main character of the heroine is considered according to a combination of sculptural and pictorial plans. The mention of Dannecker's sculpture and the inclusion of paintings by Allori, Raphael and Correggio in the text contribute to the realization of a mythological plot in which the philosophy of being of Turgenev's heroes - Gemma and Sanin - is comprehended. The plot is built in such way that the reader realizes the unchanging the heroine’s “sacredness” and the hero's path from the original harmony - through chaos - to the possibility of regaining harmony. Gemma becomes a moral reference point for the hero.
