Abstract

The article examines the process of formation of post-symbolist aesthetics in the collection of poems by B. Pasternak "Initial Time" in the context of the general historical and cultural situation of the first half of the 20th century. An analysis of the poem "Today with the first light they will rise" is proposed, written in 1913 and radically changed by the author in 1928, like most of the texts of the above collection. Also, the text of this article describes in detail the reasons why, in 1928, the poems included in the collection "Initial Time" were rewritten by Pasternak. In addition, the text of the Pasternak poem is compared with the theses from the acmeist manifestos of O. Mandelstam and other post-symbolist aesthetic declarations. The analysis of the poetic text in conjunction with the study of biographical notes and essays allowed us to conclude how the artistic program of B. Pasternak was formed and what influenced his author's worldview.
