Abstract

The personal collection of books on philology belonging to the author of “The Russian-Zyryan Dictionary” Nikolay P. Popov (1801-1877) is reconstructed from personal correspondence and archival records of Ust-Sysolsky public library stock. The paper provides general characteristics of dictionaries N. P. Popov and his colleagues abided by in their lexicographic researches. The article also defines the role of N. P. Popov’s area of expertise which had impact on the department “Philology” in Ust-Sysolsky public library.
