Abstract

Zyuzdino region is situated in the north-east of Kirov Oblast in the upper reaches of the Kama river and borders the Komi-Permyak Okrug. According to archaeological data the culture of Zyuzdino ancient settlements is identical to the Rodanovskaya culture of the Komi-Permyaks, for this reason the language of the Zyuzdino Komi-Permyaks is one of the dialects of the Komi-Permyak language. Therefore, the Komi-Permyak researchers aim to study the culture and dialect of the Zyuzdino Komi-Permyaks. Nowadays there are about 1500 Zyuzdino Komi-Permyaks who are interested in their ethnic roots. The language is being revived, every two years the festival “Chudo” is held, and an ABC book is being prepared for publication.
