Abstract

The article based on field data, archival sources and published materials examines various forms of community mutual aid in Old Believer communities, including the regulation of relations with state power institutions (misprision) and the organization of various trade and manufacturing enterprises, down to everyday practices (mutual aid, “secret charity”, etc.). Field and archival data are presented within the context of Old Believer labor ethics.
