Abstract

The article analyzes the methods of fixing comparative constructions of the Russian language in various dictionaries. It is noted that they are presented either in explanatory dictionaries or in special dictionaries dedicated to the figurative means of the Russian language. In the first case, comparisons are additional, often illustrative linguistic material, and there are dictionaries (published both at the initial stage of lexicography and at its present stage) that do not include comparisons at all. In addition, we are talking here almost exclusively about stable comparisons. Dictionaries of the second type began to appear only at the end of the 20th century. In them, both stable and author's, original comparative constructions are recorded, attention is drawn to which image is chosen by a native speaker.
