DYNAMIC PROCESSES IN THE OPPOSITIONAL SYSTEM "FRIEND-FOE" (BASED ON THE STORY OF GUNTHER DE BRUYNE "RENATA")

Abstract

The article presents the results of a study of the relationship between the anti-members of opposition "friend-foe". The object of the study is the fundamental juxtaposition of intercultural communication "ours" vs. "theirs" (“we-they”/”native-alien”/”own-other”) on the example of G. de Bruyne's story "Renata". Using the analysis of theoretical sources, the method of continuous sampling and linguistic analysis of contextual blocks of the story, an attempt is made to reveal the dynamic nature of the opposition "friend or foe", due to a number of objective and subjective factors. The study also proposes to introduce additional elements into the studied opposition that allow differentiating the actualization of the described opposition in a specific literary text.
